This variety is the hardiest we’ve ever seen. It grows as far north as zone 5- you don’t see many Rose of Sharon shrubs in that part of the country.

These are miniature flower factories. You’ll see your first blooms in early summer, and they don’t stop until the first frost. It is the longest-blooming Rose of Sharon Althea we’ve ever seen.

A lot of high-end homes use these in rows as a tall flowering hedge to provide privacy. It’s a nice blooming alternative to a solid evergreen wall.

We recommend planting in groups of three or five for a dramatic effect.
